A tribute to a criminally overlooked group.

“Lovelite” by O’Bryan

I’ve been bumping this for a while. Reminds me of Saturday afternoons, dancing with friends, and riding around in the car with no particular place to go.

Watch The Throne Listening Party

It’s been a long time since I purchased new Hip Hop but the lure of a Jay & Kanye collaboration was too great. I got it yesterday and I’ve been listening to it closely. If you’ve gotten it, tell me what you think.

A Tribute To Mark Adams

Web tribute to Mark Adams, bass player for Slave and Aurra who passed away in March. He will be greatly missed.

For the love of Jill Scott.
I adore Ms. Scott and I am so excited about her new CD, “The Light of the Sun”. Here are my favorite songs by her:
Golden-The feel good anthem of a lifetime. A melodic tribute to self-confidence and love.
A Long Walk (Jazzy Remix)-THE song that made me a fan. Tell me if you can’t resist trying to sing all the words.
The Way-A seductive ode to post coital joy. Yes hunty!
Family Reunion-A song that highlights Scott’s extraordinary songwriting talent. Listening to this just makes you feel like you’re right there enjoying the celebration.
Not Like Crazy-One of the most realistic love songs ever.
Epiphany-Heh.
Hate on Me-The ultimate “middle finger” song. I always bump this when I’m feeling good.

I’ve been listening to this all weekend. Jenny Burton’s “I Remember What You Like” was the BADDEST dance track of the 1980’s. Although the song is bogged down with kettle whistles and other noises, the beat was undeniable and Burton showed her chops as a singer. She went on to have another hit, with “Bad Habits”, but “I Remember What You Like” was her best track.
